Hermon Middle School's Unity Week Activities

๐Ÿงก Wearing Orange

On a Wednesday, October 22nd, 2025, students and staff were encouraged to wear orange to show unity, inclusion, and support for kindness. Orange is the color used during Unity Week to represent solidarity against bullying.

๐Ÿค Unity Pledge

Students will participate in a Unity Pledge, collectively committing to:

  • Be kind and supportive to their peers.

  • Stand up against bullying.

  • Promote an inclusive school community where everyone feels safe and respected.

๐Ÿ”— Project Connect: A Chain of Individuality

A key activity will be Project Connect, which aims to build stronger relationships and a more cohesive school climate by celebrating what makes each student unique.

For this project, every student will write a unique attribute or strength about themselves on a strip of orange paper. These strips will then be linked together to form a school-wide chain, symbolizing that while every individual is distinct, they are all connected to create a strong, unified community. This visual representation will serve as a powerful reminder that the school's strength comes from the diversity of its students.

Hermon Middle School is committed to ensuring every student feels valued and safe, and looks forward to a successful Unity Week that highlights the positive power of their collective differences.
